Landing page builders

A landing page builder is a tool for making standalone pages for ad campaigns or sign-ups, with templates, forms and A/B testing but no full website around them. Our landing page builders reviews compare eight tools on where testing starts, visitor caps, AI features, integrations and trial terms, using prices checked on October 12, 2026, on each vendor's pricing page.

Which landing page builder fits you?

Start with whether you buy ads and how much traffic you send. Testing tools only pay off with enough visitors, and the plan that unlocks A/B tests usually sits several tiers above the entry price.

  • If you run Google or Meta ads and test every week: Unbounce Experiment, $112 a month on yearly billing, with unlimited variants, confidence intervals and dynamic text replacement. Popups, sticky bars and 1,000+ integrations start on Build.
  • If you want A/B testing under $100: Swipe Pages Marketer at $69, with 50,000 visitors and AMP pages, or Leadpages Grow at $79.
  • If traffic is huge or unpredictable: Leadpages. No plan caps visitors, though lower tiers allow only 5 active integrations and one seat.
  • If several people build pages for one big ad account: Instapage, with 10 seats on every plan; testing starts at $159.
  • If you’re an agency or publish a page per city or product: Landingi, which generates pages from a CSV or API and updates shared Smart Sections across all of them at once.
  • If you need one sign-up page today: Carrd, $19 a year with a custom domain. Expect no A/B testing, popups or AI.
  • If you want email, checkout and pages without paying: Systeme.io, whose free plan covers 2,000 contacts and three funnels.
  • If you sell courses or coaching through multi-step funnels: ClickFunnels from $81 a month.

The default is Unbounce. Traffic volume flips the answer fastest: at 60,000 visitors a month, Unbounce needs a custom plan or overage, Swipe Pages Marketer adds $10, and Leadpages Grow still costs $79. Mostly mobile visitors from social ads? Swipe Pages’ AMP pages matter more than extra testing tools.

When should you not pay for a landing page builder?

If you aren’t buying ads yet, skip the paid testing plans, because none of them pay off without traffic. Start on Carrd or the Systeme.io free plan, and upgrade once you have traffic worth splitting.

You may already own the tool. Wix, Squarespace, Webflow and Framer build standalone pages inside a full site, so check our website builder reviews first. GetResponse and HubSpot bundle landing pages into email and CRM suites, covered in our email marketing section. A dedicated builder earns its fee when ad spend is high enough that a few points of conversion pay for it.

Which traps catch landing page buyers?

Five traps account for most surprise bills. All of them sit in the plan tables. Don’t trust the entry price alone.

  • Testing a tier up. Unbounce starts at $22 but tests from $112; Landingi starts at $24 but tests from $119. Instapage’s $79 Create plan has no testing at all.
  • Visitor caps. Unbounce Starter allows 500 visitors a month and Landingi Build 2,000. Only Swipe Pages publishes its overage rate, $5 per 5,000 visits.
  • Trials that bill. Leadpages, Instapage and Landingi charge your card when the trial ends unless you cancel, and Landingi’s trial stops after 200 visits.
  • AI credits. Leadpages, Landingi and Swipe Pages meter AI page generation; top-ups start at $2.50 for 2,000 credits at Leadpages and $15 for 5,000 at Landingi.
  • No published refunds. None of the dedicated builders lists a refund policy on its pricing page. ClickFunnels offers 30 days.

Most people miss the testing tier until the first campaign is live. In practice, compare the cheapest plan that tests, not the cheapest plan. When you trial one, set a calendar reminder for the billing date.

How do we build our landing page builders reviews?

Every score is a research score: one published rubric applied to evidence you can check. We don’t run conversion experiments ourselves, and vendor claims about conversion lifts stay labelled as claims.

We read official pricing pages, plan tables and help documentation, checked on October 12, 2026. Where a vendor page is unclear, we cross-check with dated independent trackers. Leadpages’ plan cards showed lower figures than its own dated price list, so we use the list. Landingi’s monthly prices come from a third-party check, because its page shows only yearly rates. Feature claims trace to vendor documentation such as Unbounce’s Smart Traffic page and Carrd’s Pro plans.

Systeme.io and ClickFunnels belong to our funnels category but are scored here on the same rubric as everyone else. Monthly billing costs 20% to 34% more than the yearly prices quoted. Commissions never move a score. Landing page builders sit in our websites and e-commerce section.

Questions people ask

What is a landing page builder used for?

A landing page builder makes single pages for one goal, such as collecting sign-ups or turning ad clicks into sales, without touching your main website. The paid tools add A/B testing, dynamic text that echoes the ad keyword, popups, and direct links to email, CRM and payment tools. Most people don't need one until they pay for traffic.

Do I need A/B testing on a landing page?

Only when you send enough traffic to split. Unbounce's Smart Traffic can start routing visitors after about 50 visits, but manual tests need far more to reach a confident result. If you aren't running paid ads, skip the testing plans: they start at $69 a month on yearly billing.

How much does a landing page builder cost?

Anywhere from $19 a year to well over $100 a month. Carrd costs $19 a year with a custom domain, and entry plans at Unbounce, Leadpages and Landingi run $22 to $24 a month on yearly billing. A/B testing starts at $69 on Swipe Pages and $159 at Instapage. Monthly billing adds 20% to 34%.

Is a landing page builder better than a website builder?

For paid ad campaigns, yes: it gives you testing, dynamic text and ad-focused integrations a general builder lacks. For a whole business site with navigation, a blog or a store, a website builder is the better buy, and most can also publish a simple standalone page without a second subscription.

Is there a free landing page builder?

Yes. Carrd is free for three one-page sites, and its Pro Standard plan adds custom domains for $19 a year. Systeme.io's free plan covers 2,000 contacts, three funnels, unlimited emails and one custom domain, with 0% transaction fees. Neither offers the testing depth of paid builders. If you've outgrown them, Swipe Pages tests from $69.
